Catherine Quealy, the proprietor, bought the Nursing Home in 1998 when it had 10 beds. She went on develop the Nursing Home to a 23 bedded facility and has further developed the building in 2015 and we can now accommodate 30 residents. Catherine, who is a Registered General Nurse, has been involved in Care of the Elderly since 1995 and holds a qualification in Gerontology. She works full time in the Nursing Home and is the provider representative to HIQA.
Christine Ann Burke is the Person In Charge / Director of Nursing at Villa Marie. She is a Registered General Nurse and is responsible for the safe and smooth running of the centre on a day to day basis. She is also responsible for Quality and Safety and is Villa Maries Complaints Officer. Christine has been successfully managing long term care facilities since 2010 and holds qualifications in Gerontology, Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care. Christine is supported in her role by Catherine Quealy.
Together with their dedicated team, Christine and Catherine are fully committed to enhancing quality of life for the residents in our care.
Meals are freshly cooked on site in Villa Marie. Residents are offered a choice at every mealtime and snacks are available through the day. All dietary needs are catered for.
There is an active Residents Council in Villa Marie which meets frequently and discusses a wide range of matters and makes a contribution to life for residents at Villa Marie.
We are always open to suggestions for improvement from our residents, family members and staff. Resident satisfaction surveys are also completed yearly by long term residents and on discharge by short term residents in order to inform us as to how to improve our services. Visitors are welcome throughout the day and into the evening.
Villa Marie is registered by The Health Information & Quality Authority to provide care to a variety of age groups. We are routinely inspected by HIQA and inspection reports can be viewed here.
